ABOUT OUR COMBAT CENTRE

Learning Has No Bounds

In 2016 we established a not for profit company Fencing Hertfordshire CIC (Community Interest Company) with the goals:
(i) To operate sessions that engage with the Hertfordshire community, opening doors to more people to get involved with exercise and education.
(ii) To provide facilities for regular exercise which has a wide range of health and wellbeing benefits. Fencing has been proven to provide a great form of mind and body wellness. The sessions will be accessible to all members of the community.
(iii) To provide and operate a purpose-built centre that provides the resources to run professional and successful sessions, creating a first class learning environment that works as a partnership for Hertfordshire schools and community networks.
(iv) To provide a bespoke Leadership and Coach Education Scheme supporting young adults in developing key business skills and gaining coaching qualifications. Educational support through Youth Connection channels will also take place through work experience and apprenticeships.

We opened the Hertfordshire Combat Centre in 2021with the support from Sport England, the Veolia Environmental Trust and Paul Davis Fencing Academy Ltd. to create the state-of-the-art venue we proudly have today.

Our team is made up of a fantastic group of people who share the same vision, ethos and worth ethic. The Company Directors are Maria Jose Faustino, Paul Davis, Becky Davis and Andy Docherty.

We strive to support our community as best as we can and are currently working on projects that include; up-skilling 16-25 year olds for work opportunities, supporting the elderly with reducing barriers to activity and engagement, running sessions that remove barriers for the BAME community, and so much more.
